Behind The Lens: The Photographers & Videographers of UNBOUND 2022

You’ve heard about the athletes, and you’ve heard about the organizers, but what about the people that capture all the amazing moments at Garmin UNBOUND Gravel? We asked our team of talented photographers and videographers for a little bit about them, here’s what they had to say:

Tim Mohn

Where are you from?

I grew up in Kansas and have been living in Emporia with my wife and kids for over 20 years.

How long have you been in the business?

I’m fairly new to photography, having started taking photography seriously in 2019. This is my second season shooting cycling.

Favorite thing about shooting at UNBOUND Gravel?

Getting to capture such a unique event in my hometown.

Tell us about your work!

I like to primarily shoot light, shadows, lines and shapes. I like contrast. I like to take pictures that challenge people.

Linda Guerrette

Where are you from?

I grew up in Maine. Moved out west after college and it’s been home ever since.

How long have you been in the business?

I’ve been working as a professional photographer focusing on action sports for 8 years

Favorite thing about shooting at UNBOUND Gravel?

I fell in love with the Flint Hills when I raced Unbound in 2010. I love the sheer beauty of the Flint Hills and the transformation that happens to people during this race.

Tell us about your work!

Favorite part of what I like doing is engaging with the sport and the athletes anticipating their next moves. Promoting and supporting the individual.

Wil Matthews

Where are you from?

NorCal native! Home is Auburn, in the Sierra foothills. I live right by the Western States Trail, atop the American River canyon.

How long have you been in the business?

Started in the previous century.

Favorite thing about shooting at UNBOUND Gravel?

The morning light with a giant herd of riders at speed and the finish line stoke are key photo opportunities, but I also really like the amount of planning / production required and the chance to work collaboratively with a talented team. It’s more than any one person can cover.

Tell us about your work!

I try to make images that tell stories.
