With race day coming up, and some new friendly faces on the UNBOUND Gravel team, we want to introduce you to the awesome people you’ll get to meet in Emporia this summer!

Ben Sachs
Race Director

Welcome aboard our new Race Director, Ben Sachs: a local Kansan who comes to us from Bleeding Kansas Gravelduro! We’re excited for all that he’ll bring, including that awesome mustache, to our race.

Favorite Part About Working On This Event: I love how it helps to build the community and culture of gravel riding in the Midwest. To have the Flint Hills of Kansas be recognized as a global destination for bike riding is so inspiring!

We’d also like to give a huge thank you to our former Race Director, LeLan Dains. LeLan brought so much passion, knowledge and fun to this race over the past decade, and left such an impact on our town and event. We’re thrilled to watch LeLan shine as the new Director of Tourism in Emporia, and look forward to working with him in a new way! He’s just a few doors down, so no doubt, there’ll be lots of back and forth!
